TEHRAN (Press TV) -- Head of the Foreign Policy Commission of Iran's parliament says Iran has concerns over the violation of human rights in Europe, as well.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the parliament's session on Tuesday, Alaeddin Boroujerdi said, ""Today the Islamic Republic of Iran follows up the cases of human rights violations at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo prisons as well as violation of human rights in Western states.""
The senior Iranian lawmaker dismissed the negative image that the West has been trying to portray of Iran as flagrant distortion of facts.
He referred to a recent visit to Tehran paid by members of the European Parliament, their meetings with families of terrorism victims and the effects this must have had on Europe's public and political attitude toward the terrorist organization.
The Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the parliament also stressed the importance of expanding Iran's cooperation with its neighboring states.
Contrary to some baseless claims, not a single word was uttered about the three Iranian islands during President Ahmadinejad’s presence in the recent Doha summit, he noted.
The three Persian Gulf Islands are an integral part of the Iranian territory, Borujerdi insisted, adding the official stance of the Islamic Republic would never change in this regard.
President was invited to participate in the 28th summit of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) in Doha on November 30.
